OSINT Framework: how to use the tool directory
OSINT Framework is not a search tool. It is a clickable tree of free OSINT resources, sorted by what you are researching. This page explains how to read it and where username tools sit inside it.

What is OSINT Framework?
OSINT Framework was created by Justin Nordine (@jnordine). The site is an interactive tree, and its source is on GitHub under the MIT license. The README says it focuses on gathering information from free tools and resources, though some listed sites need registration or charge for extra data.
Each branch is a type of selector or topic, such as usernames, email addresses, domains or images. Leaf nodes link out to tools. Small markers tell you what to expect: (T) means a tool you install and run locally, (D) a Google dork, (R) a site that requires registration, and (M) a URL you need to edit by hand with your search term.
How to use OSINT Framework
- Open osintframework.com and expand the branch for what you have, for example Username.
- Read the markers before clicking: (T) needs an install, (R) needs an account.
- Open a few tools from the branch and compare their results.
- Write down which tools you used and when, so your findings can be repeated.
