WhatsMyName Apps
Terms of Use
Effective date: October 13, 2026
Operator: WhatsMyName Apps
Contact: [email protected]
1. Agreement
These terms apply to the WhatsMyName Apps website and its username search (the "service"). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
2. What the service does
The service checks whether pages for a username exist on public websites, using open-source site lists. Results are clues from public data, not proof of identity. An account with the same username may belong to a different person, a brand, a bot or nobody. Websites change, block automated checks and return placeholder pages, so results can be wrong or incomplete. Check every result yourself.
3. Acceptable use
- Use the service lawfully, and only for usernames you have a legitimate reason to research.
- Do not use it to stalk, harass, threaten, dox or discriminate against anyone, or for unlawful surveillance.
- We are not a consumer reporting agency. Do not use results for decisions about credit, employment, housing, insurance or any purpose covered by the FCRA or similar laws.
- Do not try to overload the service, get around its rate limits, scrape it automatically or use it to attack the websites it checks.
4. Free service, no guarantee
The service is free and provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We may change, limit or stop it at any time. Rate limits apply.
5. Liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for decisions made based on results. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
6. Other websites
Results link to websites we do not control. Their content and terms are their own.
7. Open-source data
The service uses open-source site lists, credited at /open-source/. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the WhatsMyName, Sherlock or Maigret projects, or by any website it checks.
8. Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the effective date above shows the latest version. Questions: [email protected].
