One gamertag on every platform you play
Your gamertag is how squadmates, rivals and stream viewers find you. When it is the same on Xbox, PlayStation, Steam, Discord and Twitch, people can add you without asking for a list. Checking one name across 3,166 sites, gaming and streaming included, shows which options are open everywhere you play.
Free, no sign-up. Up to five usernames, 3,166 sites. The username is not stored or logged.
Why matching gamertags are hard
Every gaming network has its own rules, its own name list and its own rename costs. On Xbox, a gamertag can be up to 15 characters including spaces, and a taken name may get a number suffix such as #1234. On PlayStation, your first online ID change is free and later ones cost money. Steam lets you change your profile name any time, but your sign-in account name is fixed. Roblox usernames run 3 to 20 characters, and every change costs Robux.
So a name that is free on one network can be taken, suffixed or simply too long on another. Finding that out after you paid for a rename is annoying.
How the tool helps
Type up to five gamertag ideas and the tool checks each across 3,166 sites. Filter to the gaming category to see consoles, PC launchers and game communities together, then add video and social to cover Twitch, YouTube and Discord. Each site comes back as Found, Not found, Blocked or Unknown. Treat every one of them as a lead to verify, not a verdict. Not found on every platform you use is what you are looking for.
Gaming sites block automated checks more often than most, so expect a few Blocked results. Open those in your browser or use the single-platform checkers: Xbox gamertag, PlayStation online ID, Steam username and Roblox username. Each one lists that platform's rules.
Step by step
- Brainstorm five tags that fit every platform. Keep each one within the strictest limits you face: 15 characters for Xbox, no spaces if you also want it on PSN or Roblox, and at most one underscore not at the start or end for Roblox.
- Search all of them at once. Enter the five tags separated by commas, then filter to gaming, video and social.
- Check Blocked platforms by hand. For any platform that shows Blocked or Unknown, use its single-platform checker or the rename screen on the platform itself.
- Claim the free ones before you rename. Grab the tag on free platforms such as Discord, Twitch and Steam profile URLs first, then spend the paid renames on Xbox, PlayStation or Roblox once you know the name is open.
- Keep a record. Export the results as CSV so you know which platforms still need the new tag.
Picking a tag that travels well
- Letters and numbers only is the safest format. Spaces work on Xbox but not on most other platforms, and underscores have placement rules on Roblox.
- Shorter is easier for teammates to type into a friend search, and it leaves room under the Xbox 15-character limit.
- Leave out your real name, age and town. A gamertag is public on every leaderboard and in every lobby.
- If your favorite tag is taken on one network, add the same short prefix or suffix everywhere instead of a different number on each.
Frequently asked questions
Can I check a gamertag on Xbox, PSN and Steam at the same time?
Yes. One search checks the tag on 3,166 sites, gaming platforms included. Some gaming sites block automated checks, so confirm Blocked results by hand.
Why does my Xbox gamertag have numbers after it?
If someone already has the name, Xbox can add a number suffix such as #1234 so your gamertag is still unique.
Is changing my gamertag free?
It depends. The first Xbox gamertag change and the first PlayStation online ID change are free, and later changes cost money. Roblox username changes cost Robux. Steam profile names are free to change.
Can I search for a player by gamertag?
Yes, the same search shows where a tag has public profiles. Use it to find friends or check a teammate, not to track or harass anyone.
How many tags can I check at once?
Up to five per search.
