FastPeopleSearch Removal: How to Opt Out in 2026
By WhatsMyName Apps team · · 5 min read
FastPeopleSearch lists names with ages, addresses, phone numbers and relatives, and it ranks well for a lot of name searches. Its removal process is free and looks almost identical to TruePeopleSearch's, but it belongs to a different company with its own family of sister sites. The steps below come from the site's own pages as they read on October 14, 2026.
How we checked these steps
FastPeopleSearch answers plain web requests with HTTP 403, so on October 14, 2026 we read its removal page and privacy notice in a rendered browser session. The removal address now redirects to fastpeoplesearch.com/optout. We did not search for anyone and did not submit a request, so the second form is described from the site's own instructions. Ownership details come from the California data broker registry.
Who runs FastPeopleSearch (and its sister sites)
In the California registry, FastPeopleSearch.com is filed under Mississippi Tornado Alley, LLC of Sacramento. The same filing lists nine more sites: CyberBackgroundChecks, AdvancedBackgroundChecks, FastBackgroundCheck, PeopleSearchNow, Phonebooks, SearchPeopleFree, SmartBackgroundChecks, USA-People-Search and USPhoneBook.
That matters, because the filing says an opt-out of the sale of personal information submitted on any of these sites "will apply across all sites". So one careful request on FastPeopleSearch should cover the group. Check one or two of the sister sites afterwards to be sure. The same note says cookie-based sharing is separate and has to be opted out on each website, through its cookie settings or a Global Privacy Control signal.
TruePeopleSearch is not in this group. It is filed under Free Data Services, LLC, so it needs its own request: see how to remove yourself from TruePeopleSearch.
FastPeopleSearch removal: step by step
- Note your listings. Search the site for your name and city, and save the URL of each record that is you. Repeat for past cities.
- Open the opt-out page. Go to fastpeoplesearch.com/removal, which forwards to the "Do Not Sell/Right to Opt-out" form.
- Choose "the subject of this request" (or "an authorized agent" if you are helping someone).
- Enter first name, last name and email, with a middle name if you want, tick the authorization box and pass the bot check.
- Click the email link within 24 hours. The page says the email can take some time, and that a link older than 24 hours means starting again.
- Complete the record form. Enter details that "match the information on the record you want removed". The page warns that missing or inaccurate details will slow things down.
- Keep the confirmation. A confirmation page and a confirmation email follow. The site says to "allow 3 days" for full removal.
What FastPeopleSearch asks for
| Item | Asked for? | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| First and last name | Yes | Middle name optional |
| Email address | Yes | For the 24-hour link and the confirmation |
| Bot check | Yes | Shown on the first step |
| Record details | Yes | On the second form, matching your listing |
| Photo ID | No | The privacy notice says opt-out requests do not require verification |
| Payment | No | Free |
Requests to know, delete or correct data are handled separately, through the privacy request page or by phone at (866) 679-8725. Those are verified by matching two or three details you give, such as name, email and phone number.
How long it takes
The site says 3 days. The company's California filing reports a median of 1 day to respond to opt-out requests (the form labels the figure as 2024). Search engine snippets can lag behind, so check the site itself.
How to confirm the removal
- After 3 days, open each saved listing URL.
- Search again with your current city, past cities and name variants.
- Check one or two sister sites from the list above, such as USPhoneBook or SearchPeopleFree, since the filing says the opt-out applies across all of them.
- Log what you found and the date.
Denied requests
Mississippi Tornado Alley reported 1,204,017 opt-out requests in its California filing: 993,412 complied with in full and 207,021 denied, about 17%. Reasons are not given. If your record survives, resubmit with details copied exactly from the listing, make sure the email link was used within 24 hours, and use the appeal route in the privacy notice (the privacy request page or the phone number above).
Re-listing after 30 to 90 days
A removed record can return when the company receives a new one with a different address, phone number or spelling of your name. Plan rechecks at 30, 60 and 90 days, then every few months and after any move or number change. Opt out each new record as it appears and log its URL.
