Call of Duty Activision ID Checker

We can't check Call of Duty automatically yet, so check the name in Call of Duty itself using the steps below. Search the other 3,450+ sites.
Tips for a good Call of Duty Activision ID
- Keep it short and easy to spell, so people can type it after hearing it once.
- Use the same handle everywhere you can. Check it on all 3,450+ sites before you commit.
- Add a word about your niche (art, games, food, code) if the plain name is taken, instead of random numbers.
- Avoid characters people mix up, like a double underscore or l and 1 next to each other.
- Claim it as soon as it looks available: a name that looks free today can be taken tomorrow.
In Call of Duty, your Activision ID is your display name followed by a # and a string of numbers, like QuietFern#1234567. The numbers are unique to your account, so many players can share the same display name. Activision has no public lookup our engine can check, so this page gives the official rules and the steps to change your name. The search box tests the name on other sites.
Call of Duty Activision ID rules
| Format | A display name, then a # and a series of numbers that is unique to your account (for example DisplayName#1234567). |
|---|---|
| Uniqueness | Because of the number suffix, players can share the same display name and still be told apart. |
| Changes | Each change uses a username change token. You receive a new token every six months. |
| Token limit | You can hold up to two tokens at a time. |
| Length and characters | Not published in the Activision support article we checked; the change screen tells you what it accepts. |

How to check a Call of Duty Activision ID
- Our engine has no automatic check for Activision IDs. Activision does not offer public profile pages that outside tools can read.
- Because every ID gets its own number suffix, a display name is rarely "taken" in the way social handles are. What matters more is whether you have a change token.
- To try a name, open the change screen in game or on the Activision website; it tells you whether the name is accepted before you confirm.
- Use the main username search on this page to see whether the same name is free on Discord, Twitch, Steam and other sites.
Call of Duty Activision ID taken? What you can do
- Since display names can be shared, you can usually keep the name you want; the number suffix tells you apart.
- If you want people to find you easily, share your full Activision ID including the # and numbers.
- If the change screen refuses a name, it may break Activision's content rules. Try a cleaner version.
- Save your tokens. With one new token every six months, a change made in a hurry is a long wait to undo.
How to change your Call of Duty Activision ID
- In game: open Options from the home screen, go to the Account tab, select Activision Account, then Change Display Name.
- Online: log in to your Activision account, open Basic Info and select edit next to your Activision ID.
- On the website you request a verification code by email, enter it, re-enter your password and submit.
- Each change uses one username change token.
Reserved and restricted names
Activision does not publish a list of reserved names in the support article we checked. Names that break its code of conduct can be refused or changed. When in doubt, the change screen gives the answer.
Tips
- Your Activision ID is what players see across Call of Duty titles that use an Activision account.
- Share the full ID with the # and numbers when friends add you, or they may pick the wrong player.
- Keep personal details such as your real name or age out of it.
Frequently asked questions
What is the number after my Call of Duty name?
It is a suffix unique to your Activision account, a # followed by numbers. It lets many players share one display name.
How often can I change my Activision ID?
Each change uses a username change token. Activision says you get a new token every six months and can hold up to two.
Can I check if a Call of Duty name is free here?
Not automatically. Activision has no public lookup we can query, and display names do not have to be unique anyway. Use the change screen to test a name.
How long can an Activision ID be?
The Activision support article we checked does not give a length limit, so we leave it out. The change screen shows what fits.
