Workspaces	Once an account is converted to a Workspace, the profile page can no longer be managed.

How to check a Vimeo username

Type the custom URL name, letters and numbers only.
We load vimeo.com/<name>. A page with profile details means the URL is in use, and Vimeo's 404 page means no profile has it.
Some names come back with HTTP 410 (Gone), as vimeo.com/staff did in our test. We show those as "Can't verify", since the name may be held without a public profile.
The final test is the Vimeo URL field in your account settings, which only saves a URL nobody else has.

Vimeo username taken? What you can do

Add your studio, city or a word about your work: miafilms, miastudio, miala.
Vimeo URLs cannot contain dots, dashes or underscores, so join words directly.
A trademark does not entitle you to a Vimeo URL, so pick a variation if someone already holds yours.
If an account infringes your trademark, Vimeo handles that through its trademark process.

How to change your Vimeo username

Sign in and open your account settings.
Go to the Profile tab.
Scroll to Vimeo URL and type the new name.
Save, then update links to your profile, because the address changes.

Reserved and restricted names

Vimeo does not publish a list of reserved URLs. The only stated limit is that a URL cannot infringe someone else's trademark.

Tips

Your custom URL appears in every link to your profile, so match it to your studio or brand name.
Video links on Vimeo use numbers, so a custom URL mostly matters for your profile page.
If you plan to move to a Workspace, check your profile page first, since Vimeo says it cannot be managed afterward.
