Dribbble Username Checker
By WhatsMyName Apps · Reviewed · Editorial policy
On Dribbble, you pick a username during sign-up, and it becomes your profile link, dribbble.com/name. Designers share it with clients the same way they share a portfolio. Enter a name below for a Dribbble username search: you get the link and see what we could test.
Dribbble username rules

How to check a Dribbble username
- Type the username without dribbble.com/.
- We try dribbble.com/<name>. In our October 2026 test, every request from our server was dropped before Dribbble answered, so the result says "Can't verify" with the link.
- Open the link in your browser. A profile with shots means the name is taken. Dribbble's 404 page means no profile uses it.
- The final test is Dribbble itself: try the name at sign-up or in your account settings.
Dribbble username taken? What you can do
- Add your discipline or a short word: miadesigns, mia-ui, miastudio.
- Match the name you use on Behance or your own site, so clients can find all your work.
- Since Dribbble does not publish how names are released, pick a variation rather than waiting for one to free up.
- If a profile copies your work or pretends to be you, report it to Dribbble support.
How to change your Dribbble username
- Sign in and open your account settings.
- Look for the username field. Dribbble's help center does not publish step-by-step instructions for this.
- Save the new name if Dribbble accepts it.
- Update links on your portfolio, CV and social profiles that point to the old address.
Reserved and restricted names
Dribbble does not publish a list of reserved usernames or rules about which names it refuses.
Tips
- Your username is part of every shot link you share, so keep it short and easy to type.
- Your display name on Dribbble can carry your full name, so the username can stay simple.
- Before you rename, check whether old links to your profile are printed anywhere, since Dribbble does not say whether they redirect.
Frequently asked questions
How do I search for someone on Dribbble by username?
Open dribbble.com/username in your browser; this page builds that link from the name you type. Dribbble drops requests from our server, so the result says "Can't verify" and you check the link by hand. A profile with shots means the name is in use.
Why does the checker say it can't verify Dribbble?
Dribbble dropped every request from our server in our October 2026 test, so we cannot see the answer. Open the link in your browser to check.
What characters can a Dribbble username have?
Dribbble's help center does not publish username rules. The sign-up form tells you if a name is not allowed.
Can I search Dribbble by real name here?
No. This page only takes a username. Use Dribbble's own search to find designers.
