Lemon8 gives each account a unique username apart from the name you show on your profile. The username is the end of your profile link. Enter one below to see whether it is in use, then read what Lemon8 says about setting it.

Lemon8 username rules

What the username is	A unique user ID, separate from your display name. Display names can be the same for different people.
Where to set it	In the User Name field on the Profile Settings screen in the app.
Allowed characters	Lemon8 shows the allowed character types on the Profile Settings screen. It does not publish them on the web.
Length and change limit	Not published on Lemon8's web pages.
Old link	When you set or change your username, your profile link updates, and links you shared before stop working.

How to check a Lemon8 username

Type the username without the @.
We load lemon8-app.com/@<name> and look for the profile description that real accounts show. A not-found page (HTTP 404) means no profile uses the name.
Lemon8 moved profiles to the /@name address. The old address without the @ now redirects, so we check the new one.
The final test is the User Name field in Profile Settings, which only saves a name nobody else has.

Lemon8 username taken? What you can do

Add a topic word or number: miaeats, mia.style, mia_travels, if the app accepts those characters.
Keep your display name as you like it. It does not have to be unique, so only the username needs a variation.
Use the same handle as your other accounts when you can, so followers can find you.
If an account impersonates you, report it. Lemon8's Community Guidelines do not allow impersonation.

How to change your Lemon8 username

Update the Lemon8 app to the latest version.
Open your profile and go to Profile Settings.
Enter the new name in the User Name field and save.
Your profile link changes with it, so update links you posted elsewhere.

Reserved and restricted names

Lemon8 does not publish a reserved list. Its Community Guidelines ban impersonation accounts.

Tips

Because old profile links stop working when you rename, change your username before you share your link widely.
Search by username, not display name, when you need one exact person. Many accounts can share a display name.
